NOW is the time to get a jump on the competition if you’re in sales, OR, plan your year ahead and BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND to paraphrase a great book . .
In our business, most agents go into hibernation mode in December. Since many people do not buy or sell houses around the holiday season, they rationalized taking it easy—big mistake! I did exactly the opposite, kicked it up a notch, and seized a huge market advantage.
Here are TWO action steps you can take RIGHT AWAY:
1 – Fill up your January calendar, NOW.
Call your hottest prospects, and best clients and start setting appointments for early January. In fact, people are more likely to set appointments for January in December than they might be in January (hey, that’s NEXT year).
Then January, I would out-list and out-sell my closest competitors 5-to-1 because of the aggressive work I did in December.
If you’re not in sales, start assembling your dream time, and get the business planning done in advance
2 – Nurture Your Existing Relationships, NOW.
The holiday season is a great time to make emotional deposits into your important professional relationships and your personal ones. Here are a few ways to do it:
Key: Keep it personal and rooted in gratitude and holiday cheer.
Don’t make it promotional or agenda-driven.
Your only goal is to make friends and foster a caring relationship.
So today, take action on just one of the items above.
Then commit to continuing to work on these actions throughout this month.
